SANDER F. "SANDY" BORDONARO age 99, beloved husband of Carmeline (Foti) (nee Bonelli) and the late Regina (nee Onorato); loving and dedicated father to Frank (deceased) (wife Debbie), Linda Criniti (deceased) (husband Joseph), Carol Behum (husband Cliff), James (wife Corinne), Marietta, Sandy Jr. and Michael (husband David Wolslegel); devoted grandfather of Joseph (wife Heidi) and Nicholas Criniti (wife Sandy), Sandy Santino (wife Rachael), Salvatore (wife Jenn), Regina Amin (husband Shivam), Maria (husband Daniel Czarniecki), and Christina Gimmi (husband Chad) and great-grandfather of 12; cherished son of the late Frank and Antoinette (nee Gaeta); dearest brother of the late Michael, Mary, Dorothy and brother-in-law of Cono Onorato and Anita Bonelli; dear uncle, great-uncle cousin and friend of many. As a blended family a friend to Carmelina's children, Venera Foti (partner Mark Plush), Frank Foti (wife Brenda) and Michael Foti (wife Rose). WWII U.S. Army/Air Force Veteran.
Sander (Sandy) was born in Shaker, OH on March 15, 1926 and passed away on July 27, 2025 surrounded by family. Sandy lived a rich and full life.
Shortly after high school, Sandy enlisted into the United States Army/Air Force and served his country proudly during World War II. Sandy lived in Mayfield Village for most of his life where he raised his seven children, ran a successful business and served as a city councilman for many years. Sandy was an entrepreneur with a keen eye for real estate. He had many interesting hobbies including racing and homing pigeons, which he won numerous awards over the years. Sandy also had a passion for raising and training German Shepherds.
Later in life Sandy became a snowbird living part time in Cleveland and part time in Naples, FL where he mastered his love for golf and spending time with friends and his wife Carm. A few years back, Sandy and Carm moved back to Willoughby, OH to be closer to family. He will be deeply missed and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who love him.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, Ohio at 12 Noon. Private family burial with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Sandy at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY MORNING 9-11AM.
