SCOTT R. MONTGOMERY, known to many as “LA” passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 54 at the Medina Hospice. He was the beloved son of Robert and Vivian (nee Moore); cherished brother of Tammy (Harold) Hutchinson; dear uncle of Mason and Austin; a nephew, cousin, and a multitude of friends; grandson of the late Eugene and Louise Montgomery and Otmer and Blanche Moore.
Scott was born on June 18, 1970, in Chardon, OH. He grew up in the Thompson/Madison area and graduated from Madison High School in 1988. Scott enjoyed working for various companies over the years and truly enjoyed his current employment with Capps Pizza in Claridon. He was a hard worker, dependable, and honest.
To know Scott was to know enjoyment, love, and generosity. He was full of fun and would often travel with friends to places like St. Croix in the Caribbean, the Sand Dunes in California, and the casinos in Las Vegas and other areas. Scott was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Cavaliers, Browns, and Guardians (Indians) games. His friends considered Scott a pro when throwing the Aerobie due to his control and accuracy. He loved riding his Yamaha banshee 4-wheeler whenever he could find the time. Scott also relished nature while camping at Nelson Ledges and enjoying the entertainment. Scott loved without restriction. He cared for anyone and everyone, and generously gave without any expectations of receiving anything in return. He found great bliss and solace in music, and it would be an understatement to say that it was one of his greatest enjoyments in life. Scott lived his life to the fullest, made the most of every moment, and left a whole that can never be filled when he passed away after a battle with cancer.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Scott at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 2-5 PM and Monday, June 2, 2025, from 1-2 PM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday at 2 PM.
Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Scott’s memory to The American Cancer Society to be used in the research of urethral cancer.
