Shelley Ann Benedict

February 7, 1950 — December 10, 2025

SHELLEY ANN BENEDICT age 75; cherished daughter of the late John and Donne (nee Eppick); beloved sister of the late Jay and Glen; devoted aunt and great-aunt, and a dear friend to many.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shelley on December 10, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer; one she faced with a remarkable grit and grace.

Born on February 7, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, Shelley was the oldest sibling to two brothers, who were not only family, but her lifelong friends. After receiving her degree, she spent her career in Pathology at Euclid Hospital.

Shelley had a deep appreciation for the arts and nature. She was well-versed in the works of great artists and musicians, frequenting museums and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She adored animals- especially her two 20+ year old cats, Gypsy and Teacup- and even found humor in the deer that never stopped eating the flowers in her yard.

Always ready for an adventure, Shelley cherished late-night conversations around her mother's kitchen table, laughter-filled evenings with friends at Michael's, and attended far more bike shows than she might have preferred to humor her brother Jay. She was intelligent, quick-witted, fiercely loyal, and full of life. Even in the face of illness, Shelley never allowed cancer to diminish her joy, spirit, or zest for living.

While her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved her, there is comfort in knowing that Shelley is now reunited with her parents and brothers, whom she missed dearly.

In lieu of gifts, please consider a donation in memory of Shelley to your local Humane Society.
