Stephen W. Ley

STEPHEN W. LEY, age 49; beloved husband for 13 years of Wendy (nee Cross); devoted father of Kylee, Saxten, Alaina and Claire; cherished son of Weert and Susannah (nee Schott); loving brother of Ernie (wife Sonya); dearest uncle of Callen, Adree Ana and Makayla; treasured son-in-law of Jerry and Mary Jo Cross; dear nephew, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend of many.

Stephen was born on March 13, 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home on November 21, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was a life-long resident of Highland Heights and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1991. Stephen graduated from Trevecca Nazarene College and went on to earn his master’s degree from Malone University. Stephen worked for Progressive Insurance for 22 years as an Analyst.

Stephen was a dedicated member of Bedford Church of the Nazarene where he was involved with the Children’s Ministry and also served as Treasurer and on several committees.  Stephen’s greatest joy was found in his faith, his children, and his wife Wendy. They spent 13 loving years together. He enjoyed Cleveland Indians games, coaching his girls’ softball teams or anything else his girls were involved in.

Stephen will be remembered by his family and friends as being a man of faith, patient, loyal, dedicated, flexible, and with a phenomenal sense of humor.  He will be deeply missed and remembered by many.

Luncheon to follow services. Private Burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Stephen at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 2-5 and 6-8 PM.
