Sun Ok Boyd

SUN OK BOYD (nee PAK) age 73, died peacefully and with acceptance on July 10, 2025, after a brief and unexpected battle with cancer; she was the adored wife for 31 years of Jonathan C. Boyd; devoted mother of Una Lauricia; cherished grandmother of Gianna Lauricia.

Sun was born February 9, 1952, and spent her youth in Milyang, South Korea. After immigrating to the United States, she began her career in computer science related fields for EDS and then Picker International. She eventually took the reins and helped grow her husband’s medical practice until he transitioned to the hospital system. She was able to enjoy her numerous hobbies and talents in her retirement years. She and Jonathan lived for 20 years in Waite Hill, Ohio. Sun loved music, especially Korean variety, and played both piano and guitar. She enjoyed hiking, roller skiing, and working in her garden, where she always sought Korean seeds. Sun was proud of her culture and always made special meals for Korean holidays. She prioritized her health and was extremely interested in clean eating and nutrition. Sun participated in community and belonged over the years to several running, biking, and sewing clubs in her area. Sun was a devoted wife to her husband and was immensely proud of his success and being able to support that with her talents. Jonathan also had the best lunch meals among his colleagues, as that was her favorite meal to plan. Sun was an energetic and motivated person who was always interested in learning and trying many new things. She was a proud and principled woman that always did her best and what was right. She will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all those that know her well.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. At her request and desire, a private family celebration of life is planned.
