Tatyana Fernand

TATYANA “TANYA” FERNAND (nee Svoyatitsky) age 65, beloved wife of Arcady; loving mother of Katia (husband John),  Leeza (husband Jose), and the late Helen; devoted grandmother of Isaac, Olivia, and Lucia; cherished daughter of the late Alexander and Yelizaveta (nee Kalistratova) Svoyatitsky; dearest sister of Anatoliy (wife Zoya), Lisa (husband Michail, deceased), Valentina, and the late Dimitry (wife Valentina); dear family member of many including her beloved Yorkie, Mickey.

Tatyana was born on June 23, 1957, in Minsk, Belarus. There she taught Engineering at the Minks Polytechnical University and obtained her PhD in Economics. Though she had always longed to be a medical doctor, she did not have the necessary connections to do so in the Soviet Union.

When she immigrated to the United States with her family, she set to achieve this dream though she would overcome many challenges. While working multiple jobs to put herself through school, she began her medical studies moving up from nursing assistant, to registered nurse, and ultimately to nurse practitioner.

Tanya was an emblem of strength. She cared so deeply for others, and radiated so much positivity, that her 23 years with the Cleveland Clinic were more than a job. The patients and work family she met at Main Campus and Euclid Hospital cherished her as much as she did them. Tanya’s spiritual and empathetic demeanor was a light to those around her.

Tanya was incredibly creative and had numerous hobbies. She created many wonderful jewelry pieces, along with lotions and soaps, however, gardening was her passion. She was also an exceptional cook.

Above all things, Tanya loved her family endlessly. She treasured the 30 years she and Arcady spent together and the family they had created.

On January 5, 2023, this charismatic woman, with a fantastic sense of humor, passed away leaving her family missing her beyond measure.

Celebration of Life Service Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 3 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tanya at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) SUNDAY from 1-3 PM.
