Thomas J. Maher

THOMAS J. MAHER, age 89; loving father of John (wife Julie), Thomas Jr. (wife Ann) and Barbara Pitrone (husband Dan); devoted grandfather of John Jr., James and Erin, Michael, Angela Fabek (husband Reed), Casie Pitrone, Seana Dailey (husband Adam) and great-grandfather of Conor and Jameson Dailey; cherished brother of Anastasia Maher and Sr. Helen Maher both of Ireland and Fr. Patrick Maher of Alabama; dearest uncle and great-uncle of many. Former husband of Helen Maher.

Mr. Maher died on Wednesday at Richmond Heights Hospital. He was a long time resident of Richmond Heights previously residing in Cleveland Heights.

Tom retired from the Plasterers and Cement Mason Union Local #80 as well as Cuyahoga County as a Plasterer. He was very active playing golf, tennis, jogging and Irish football. He was born September 1, 1924 in County Carlow, Ireland. Tom was a member of the Irish American Club as well as St. Margaret Mary Church. His family describes him as generous, simple, quiet, yet with a fun sense of humor.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Rd., Highland Heights. The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tom at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) on FRIDAY from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
