age 70, passed away surrounded by family on February 1st, 2026, at the VA Medical Center of Cleveland.
Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Nancy (nee Raggets); loving father of Sarah Tremaglio (husband Tyler), and Gregory Stroop (wife Angela), devoted grandfather of Aurelia Tremaglio and Elouise Stroop; cherished son of the late Wilbert Stroop and Fredonna (nee Rose) Cottrell (husband Harold deceased); loving brother of Rosemary Ruff, and the late John (wife MaryJo), Joyce Wallace, and Chris Cottell; dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many.
Tom was a proud Retired U.S Army Veteran with more than 35 years of honorable service, including deployment in Operation Iraqi Freedom and assignments both domestically and overseas. Tom was a devout Christian, prominent in his community and church. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling the world, including Ireland, France, Israel, and Disney World with his loving family. He enjoyed fishing, reading, model trains, and sport shooting. You would often find him watching Cleveland sports in his free time. If you ever needed help with a home improvement project, Tom was just a phone call away, always willing to offer a hand. Tom was the type of person who made friends wherever he went and touched many lives. He was greatly loved and will deeply missed. Until we see you again, we'll save you "a shot and a beer."
