VINCENT DOMINIC MARINO, aged 90 years, beloved husband for 59 years to the late Rose (nee Barone), loving father of Angela Marino, John Marino and Theresa Ferenac (Robert), devoted grandfather of Joseph and Nicholas Raith, and Dominic, Andrew and Victoria Ferenac, dearest great-grandfather of Joseph Nicholas Raith, cherished son of the late John and Mary (nee DeFranco), dear brother of Rose Ann Mannella (Ben) (both deceased), fond uncle and great-uncle to many. Vince was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #33.
Vince was born and raised in Little Italy, Cleveland, where he attended Murray Hill School, Benedictine High School, and Trade School. At a young age, he worked at the hardware store in Little Italy where he got to know many people in the neighborhood.
Faith was always an important part of Vince’s life. He received all of his sacraments at Holy Rosary Church, with the exception of marriage. He was an active member of St. Gregory the Great Parish since 1969, where he stayed closely connected through weekly worship, retreats, and many years of volunteering at the Adoration Chapel. He also participated in building a home for Habitat for Humanity, sponsored by St. Greg’s.
In 1963, Vince married Rose at Christ the King Church in Collinwood, and together started a family down the street from the home where he grew up. They later moved to South Euclid, where they raised three children, were blessed with five grandchildren, and eventually welcomed one great-grandson.
Vince enjoyed attending Cleveland baseball games with friends and later with his children and grandchildren. At home, he enjoyed watching Cleveland sports on TV and also classic TV shows.
As a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 33 for over 60 years, Vince worked hard and took pride in everything he did.
Beyond his work, Vince took great joy in spending time outdoors. He loved walks in the park with Rose and gardening. His large vegetable garden produced an abundance of fresh vegetables that he generously shared with family and friends. He took pride in maintaining a beautiful flower garden as well.
Vince was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors to fix anything day or night!
Family meant everything to Vince. Spending time with family was very important to Vince. His greatest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He loved attending their sporting events, birthday parties, dance recitals, scout activities and special moments, especially their religious sacraments.
He spent countless hours playing with his grandchildren, whether on ordinary days at home or during family vacations and trips to amusement parks. Together, he and Rose found great joy in spending time with loved ones and making memories their family will always treasure.
