VIOLET JEAN BEYLER (neé Crocker) age 82, beloved wife of Raymond E. Beyler Jr. for 26 years; loving mother of Cameron (Becky) Ferguson and step-mother of Curtis (Pamela) Ferguson; devoted grandmother of Zachary, Cade, Kylie, and Sara; daughter of the late Logan and Alice (nee Long) Crocker; sister of Bruce Crocker; aunt of Alice, April, and Leilani.
Jean was born on October 26, 1943, in East Cleveland, Ohio. She spent her early years in Willoughby, Ohio where she attended grade school and lived on Riverside Drive. Her father worked for the New York Central Railroad and spent time between their homes in Sanford, Florida and Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio during Jean's middle and High School years. After graduating from Geneva High School in 1961, Jean enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After returning home from the military, she settled in Willoughby, married Gary Ferguson, and had their son Cameron. Jean was well known in her community and made many lifelong friends living on Wood Street for over 30 years. As a professional antique dealer, she was a wealth of knowledge to others in the antique community and served the Mentor and Willoughby community through her shop in Mentor. Jean's path would later reunite her with Ray. The two shared 26 years and many of life's joys and struggles. On March 30, 2026, Jean passed away from the complications brought about by dementia leaving behind memories of a kind woman, who never knew a stranger and always made you feel loved. As per her wishes, her remains will be cremated, and a memorial scattering of the ashes will be held this summer at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jean to your local ASPCA.
Arrangements and cremation entrusted to DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
