Walter Smith

WALTER E. SMITH, aged 70 years, of Hudson, OH., devoted to his family, committed to education of all ages, benefactor of many, entrepreneur, business leader, and golf nut, passed away May 12, 2007 of a stroke. Beloved husband for 45 years to Carole P. (nee Prochaska), loving father of Gregory E. (wife Jeri Anne Lee), Patrick J. (Leticia Vazquez) and Thomas C. (wife Katie, nee O Toole), dearest grandfather of Tyler, Niles, Isabelle, Griffin, Jacqueline and Megan Smith, and Brittnie Price, cherished son of the late Walter E. Sr. and Beatrice (nee Nock), devoted brother of Timothy and Gene, treasured son-in-law to Harriet (nee Behm) and the late Charles J. Prochaska, M.D., loved brother-in-law of Louise Prochaska, Charles Prochaska, Georgia Gorell, Joanne Pogros and Mary Beth Sammon, dear uncle and friend to many. Born and raised in the Cleveland area, Walter graduated from St. Gregory the Great Elementary School, Cathedral Latin High School, John Carroll University, where he was awarded the John Carroll Alumni Medal of the Year in 1982, and Case Western Reserve University (PhD). Walter ran numerous businesses over the years which allowed him to help with family and community. He continues supporting others even after his death through the gift of life organ donations which will enhance the lives of many.
