William D. Ambrogio

WILLIAM D. AMBROGIO, age 73, beloved husband for 45 years of Patricia (nee Stofira); loving father of Lisa Andreani (husband John), Erin Lennon, and Michael, Ph.D. (fiancée Dr. Jennifer Luxenburg) and father-in-law of Timothy Lennon; devoted grandfather of Timothy and Nathan Lennon, Ania and Gianni Andreani, and Lillian Parker; cherished son of the late William and Eldina (nee DiFranco); dearest brother of Thomas (wife Michele) and Ronald (wife Josie); dear brother-in-law of Bruce and Becky Stofira and John and Pat Stofira; treasured uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

Bill was born on June 5, 1949 and passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 16, 2023. A native of northeast Ohio; he grew up in Mayfield Heights and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1967 and graduated from Cleveland State University. Bill especially loved playing with his grandkids, teaching them to cook, and attending their sporting events. He was happy spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. Those who knew Bill described him as social and friendly, having a great sense of humor. He gave great advice and had a talent for storytelling. Bill was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed.

Contributions may be made in memory of Bill to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/. Prayers of Christian Burial Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 7 PM, at the Funeral Home. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Burial will take place at a later date at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bill at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91), WEDNESDAY 3-7 PM.
