PHILIP M. ZANNELLA, JR., age 64, beloved husband for 41 years of Karen (nee Specht); loving father of Carole Hanson (husband Marc), Philip M. III (wife Courtney), Jacki Endres (husband Ryan) and Amanda Fleck (husband Joseph); devoted grandfather of Daniel, Andrew and Charlotte Hanson, Gemma Zannella, Alexa and Austin Endres and Logan Fleck; cherished son of the late Philip M. Sr. and Ruth (nee Polomsky); dearest brother of Gloria DeCapite (husband Mark) and brother in law of Kathy and Tim Leciejewski, Kim and the late Paul Collister, Karla and Ottaviano Rosada; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Phil was born on December 4, 1954 and passed away on June 28, 2019. He was a resident of Auburn Township for 19 years and prior to that Chesterland. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1972. Phil was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union Local 1363, to which he was extremely dedicated. Phil retired as Directing Business Representative but continued to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of Machinists Local 1363. He enjoyed cooking, which made sense, because of his love for food. Phil liked golf, boating and fishing. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs fan. He loved to travel, especially to Gettysburg, and was a huge Civil War enthusiast. He was hard working, intelligent, witty and family oriented. He will be greatly missed by all.
Contributions may be made in memory of Philip to Guide Dogs of America 13445 Glenoaks Blvd., Sylmar, CA 91342. Private Services will be held at Munn Cemetery in Newbury, OH. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Arrangements by DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND.

Phil was a great guy to grow up with. When Phil and I were younger he was the guy that I looked up to. He and his father helped me get a good start in life by getting me my first great job. From then on I always respected him for all of his achievements in life. He will be missed by many but I will never forget him. God Bless all of the Zannella family.

We wish to express our deepest sympathies to the Zannella family. Phil, Jr., just like Phil, Sr., was always fully dedicated to and worked unceasingly on behalf of their family and the members of Local 1363. We were privileged to have worked with Phil and to have been inspired by him.

As a member and a DBR of the IAM, Phil and I shared many stories about the two most important things in our lives. The Love of our wife’s and our Children and Grandchildren. We often ragged on each other about football, his Cleveland Browns and my Baltimore Ravens. Phil stood true to his Union and a dear friend. Rest In Peace brother.

I worked with Phil on the Law Committee for four conventions and he was always the smartest, funniest and most upbeat guy in the room. He spoke of his family all the time; and I have nothing but fond memories working with him. He will be truly missed.
