Rachel Leela Miriam Tipping, 49, of Willowick, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, on June 1, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer.
Rachel is survived by her parents Eric and Sally Tipping, sister Maura, several aunts, uncles and cousins, partner Brian Campbell, cats Herman and Zora, and countless friends.
Rachel was born on December 24, 1973, and lived in Cleveland Heights, OH until her family moved to Virginia Beach, VA in April 1975. Rachel graduated from Frank W. Cox High School in 1992 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Communication from UNC Greensboro. Rachel moved back to the Cleveland area after college and began working for the Annashae Corporation. After leaving there Rachel worked for AAA East Central in Independence, OH for over twenty-four years. Rachel also held longtime part-time jobs at 10,000 Villages and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Rachel spoke fondly of her coworkers often and stayed in touch with many of them after she moved on to her next position. Rachel was an avid reader and animal lover, often volunteering at the Lake Humane Society. She was also passionate about art, movies, and travel. Rachel often felt restless unless she was pursuing one of these passions. Rachel loved the ocean, and her cremated remains will be placed there at a later date. Rachel’s kindheartedness and compassion will be missed.
The Tipping and Campbell families wish to thank the Seidman Cancer Center and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their dedicated care for Rachel during her battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lake Humane Society.
A Celebration of Rachel’s Life will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 11AM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91)

Rachel was the kindest, most generous soul I’ve ever known. I was blessed to call her my best friend for 48 years. Please trust that my family will be here for whatever you need, just as yours has been here for us in our times of tragedy. My heart is broken for all of us, but she will love on in our memories forever.

I worked with Rachel a number of years before she became ill. She was one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever known. She always had a smile and we would spend a few minutes catching up whenever we ran into each other. I’ve missed her presence here at AAA. What a beautiful soul she was!

I met Rachel through my husband, Bill, who worked with her. He said Rachel was one of the nicest people he ever met. I saw that for myself when five of us would meet for lunch on occasion. Rachel, you will always be in our hearts. May you find peace and wholeness in paradise. May God bless you.

Sally, Eric and Rachel’s family and dear friends,
Words cannot express the sadness and grief you must be experiencing at the loss of your daughter, sister, niece, partner or close friend. While I only knew Rachel from hearing about her from you, I can see from these comments how special, kind and generous she was and beloved by all. Sending my love to each of you as you grieve her loss. May Rachel’s memory always be for a blessing.

Rachel, I will miss you dearly. I am thankful I met you in high school and for all the memories we shared. I will always remember the best book you left at my house a few years ago. Thank you for that. My deepest condolences go out to Brian, Mr. & Mrs. Tipping, Maura, and other family members. Rachel was a beautiful soul and true gem.

Sleep, little baby, sleep;
The holy Angels love thee,
And guard thy bed, and keep
A blessed watch above thee.
No spirit can come near
Nor evil beast to harm thee:
Sleep, sweet, devoid of fear
Where nothing need alarm thee.
The love which doth not sleep,
The eternal Arms around thee:
The shepherd of the sheep
In perfect love hath found thee.
Sleep through the holy night,
Christ-kept from snare and sorrow,
Until thou wake to light
And love and warmth to-morrow. I’m glad your struggle is over… and when I remember you it will always be with a smile and no tears.
Vince & Diane Armaro
Our deepest sympathies go out to Sally, Eric and all of Rachel’s family and friends, and to Brian. She was so special and sweet.
