ROBERT J. WAGGLE age 74, beloved husband for 50 years of Kathleen (nee Milite); loving father of Matthew (wife Nicole) and Stephanie Calabrese (husband David); devoted grandfather “Boop” of Rex and Nora; cherished son of the late Willis and Dorothy (nee Meinke); dearest brother of Suzanne Janko (Richard, deceased), John (Cheryl) and the late James (Donna); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Vietnam Conflict Veteran.
Bob was born on May 18, 1945 and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 19, 2020. He was born in Geneva, New York and graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. Bob lived in Highland Heights for the past 30 years. He was a proud member and Trustee of the Willoughby Hills VFW Post #4358 and a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Conflict, serving on the 38th Parallel in Korea. Bob was very mechanical and could fix anything. He was dedicated to his job as a heavy machine mechanic for Ohio CAT and retired after 30 years. He truly enjoyed NASCAR, working on cars and coaching baseball. Bob was an avid fan of both the Cleveland Indians and Browns but was his grand-kids’ biggest fan. He attended all their practices and games. Bob loved boating and being on the water, the Labor Day Air Show with his family and his many adventures with his beloved brother-in-law Greg. He will be remembered most as Boop to his grandkids, making everyone laugh and always having the biggest smile on his face. He was the greatest husband to his wife of 50 years, Kathy and was beyond devoted to his family. To know Bob, was to love Bob. He will be forever missed.

Matt, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Very true about what was written that he always had a smile on his face. Even after not seeing him for all those years since high school. When I saw you guys at the St. Greg’s tournament and he still had a smile for me. I remember him always being at our football and basketball games and he always made me laugh when ever i was over. He was a good man and no doubt a great grandfather. Pass my condolences on to your mom and sister. God bless you and big Bob, Matt.

On behalf of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and VFW Post 4358 with a heavy heart we sincerely express our condolences to the Waggle Family. Bob was our brother, a soldier and a patriot of our beloved nation. He not only served his country in Korea during the Second Korean Conflict but also a proud member of Post 4358 Honor Guard. He graciously sacrificed his time so that many veterans could receive their final tribute and honors.
Bob selflessly served his post joyfully at all functions and was always there with a smile and a can do attitude. His input and guidance as a Trustee and House Committee member was always inspiring and appreciated.
We will miss Bob because he lived and represented our core values… DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY.
May God bless Bob…May God Bless the Waggle Family… May God Bless the United States of America.
May he rest in peace.
