
SHIRLEY ANN KING age 74; loving mother of Mari, Laci, and Emory III (wife Melissa); devoted grandmother of Javon and Victoria; cherished daughter of the late Fern and Charles; dearest sister of Charleen Brown, Carolyn Foy, Ralph Posey Jr., Becky McGriff, Timothy Posey, Barbara Jackson; dear aunt and great-aunt of many. Survived by her canine companion Diamond.
Shirley was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 29,1945 and passed away on April 21, 2020. She graduated from Hiram College and went on to work as a teacher in both the Geauga County School District and Auburn Career Center. When she wasn’t teaching, she was often showcasing her talents at the East Cleveland Theater, as well as many other theatres, or being a DJ on 91.5 WKHR. In her free time, she enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, reading, traveling, golf, bowling, sewing, literature with a love of Shakespeare, and listening to music. She had a deep connection with God and attended many episocpal churches both in Ohio and Florida. Her three kids and two grandchildren will remember her as a sweet, generous, positive, and optimistic person. Shirley was truly the definition of, “An angel among us”. She touched the lives of so many and the people that knew her best will carry her lessons with them forever. Shirley was a very special and talented person that will be dearly missed by everyone.
