TERESA MARIE LUTES age 82, beloved mother of Rhonda Luce (husband Jeffrey) and Gina Lutes-Finley (husband Patrick Finley); devoted Nona of Olivia and Chloe Luce; cherished daughter of the late Alvero and Inez (nee Mazzer) Franks.
Teresa was born on April 23, 1941, and grew up in Mather, Pennsylvania. She possessed many wonderful and caring traits, all of which helped her exceed in the field of nursing. Teresa graduated as a Registered Nurse from Homestead Nursing School and dedicated over 45 years as an Emergency Room Nurse at Lake East Hospital. There she met many lifelong friends who she considered family.
To know Teresa was to know love. She took care of her parents without question and worried about the wellbeing of others, putting them above herself, even in her final moments. To say she was kind and giving would be an understatement. Her heart was boundless and she touched everyone’s life that she met.
On August 22, 2023, this most selfless and graceful mother, Nona, and friend, passed away with her beloved daughters by her side.
Teresa treasured her grandchildren and family endlessly. Her true enjoyment in life came from them and caring for others. Let her words be of comfort during this most difficult time:
“I want everyone to know I love them, every single one of them.”
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Teresa at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 3-7 PM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11AM at Western Reserve Memorial Garden’s Chapel located within the mausoleum, 11521 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026.

TO THE FAMILY OF TERESA FRANKS LUTES: I first met Teresa as a 5th grade student at the Mather Elementary School. We were high school classmates at Jefferson-Morgan High School, graduating in 1959. Although she had never attended our class reunions, all spoke of her and her high school days and her nursing career. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. She will always be remembered & she, & other classmates who passed away since our last reunion, will be memorialized on the Class of 1959 FB page (www.facebook.com/Jeffersonmorganclassof1959.

My deepest condolences to your family. I had the privilege to know Teresa. She always welcomed me in her home with open arms. I will never forget how she always laughed at my goofy jokes, even when she was ill. And… I had the pleasure of eating your family’s secret-recipe dessert. Sometimes happiest memories hurt the most. Grief will fade, our love shall remain forever. I will never forget her. I wish was there to hug you all.

Mrs. Lutes you will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure of knowing you in my very elementary youth and the living in your neighborhood in my adult life getting to wave at you and watch over your home as I drove be each day after work. I know and love both of your daughters and would have been there in a heartbeat should I have seen or noticed anything amiss. My deepest sympathies to your girls and grand babies. ❤️
