VERNA L. MAXWELL (nee Chapman) age 84, beloved wife of the late Roger; loving mother of Garry Stephen (wife Bobbie), Kevin Stephen (wife Mary), Vicki Congelio (husband Donald), Kim Powell, and Coshell Boustani (husband John); devoted grandmother of Marc Stephen (wife Heather), Anthony Congelio, Christopher Board (wife Misty), Bradley Congelio (wife Meredith), Brittney Sobota (husband Corey), Justin Board (wife Beth), Lindsey Contraguerro (husband Josh), Ashlynn Stephen, Patrick and Kameron Boustani and great-grandmother of 15; cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Dessie (nee Moore) Chapman; dearest sister of Sue Martin, Bonnie Roberts and the late Ben Chapman; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Verna was born on November 13, 1934 in Vicars, West Virginia and passed away on February 25, 2019. She grew up in West Virginia, was a resident of Aurora for the last 3 years, other parts of Cleveland for 20 years and spent 10 years in Florida. Verna attended High School in West Virginia. She enjoyed baking, cooking, puzzles, and was an avid reader. Verna was a Cleveland Indians fan and loved gardening and writing poetry in her free time. She also enjoyed listening to country music. Verna was hardworking, giving, and generous. She was hospitable, kind, bright, intelligent, and had a great sense of humor. Verna loved her grandchildren deeply. She will be dearly missed by all.

Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Verna at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 4-7:30 PM.
