VINKO RADISEK, age 90, beloved husband for 65 years of Ivana (nee Butara); loving father of Liljana “Lil” Kabasan (husband Jim), Sonja Moscato (husband Tom), and Vince “Misa” (fiancé Frannie Jurkovic); devoted Ati of Mathew Erzen, Jessica Watkins (husband Tommy), TJ Moscato, Nikki Haney (husband Tony), Vince, Katrina, Danielle, and great grandpa of Emmy, Levi, and Lorenzo; cherished son of the late Franc and Antonija (nee Jager); dearest brother of Josef, Anton, Pavle, and the late Franc and Martin; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Vinko was born on January 31, 1932, in Orehovo, Slovenia and immigrated to the United States in 1956. It was then that he married his beloved wife, Ivana, and together they established their family in Cleveland and Richmond Heights. Strong in his faith and heritage he was a parishioner of St. Vitus Catholic Church and member of the Slovenska Pristava Pensioners. Vinko enjoyed being outdoors fishing and having a cold drink with his brother. He stayed active bowling, watching the Cleveland sports teams, and dancing with his beloved wife. He and Ivana also enjoyed traveling with three other couples. Vinko was extremely hard working and lived his life making sure that his wife and children were taken care of. In Slovenia he was a dedicated cabinet maker and a dedicated carpenter in Cleveland. On July 30, 2022, Vinko passed away peacefully in the home that he built, 59 years ago, with family by his side. He leaves his family missing his compassion, care, and witty sense of humor until the day they meet again.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Vinko to St. Mary Church.
Family and friends are requested to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, August 4, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 15519 Holmes Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110, at 11:30 AM.
Burial following at All Souls.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Vinko at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 6-8 PM.
