WILLIAM J. TAUSZ JR. age 77, was born on April 23, 1946, in East Cleveland and passed away on July 8, 2023. Beloved husband for 46 years of the late Donna M. Tausz (nee Lantz), loving father of Kimberly and Michael Tausz and Judy (nee Meekins), adoring grandpa to Rachel and Sarah Drugan, cherished son of the late William and Susan (nee Spittle) Tausz; treasured brother to the late Marge (husband Buddy) Carlson and late Kathy (husband Rich, deceased) Vojticek; dearest brother-in-law to the late Judy Lantz and Cindy Rutherford (nee Lantz); dear uncle and great uncle of many.
Bill was a 1964 graduate of Mayfield High School. He was a loyal and devoted friend to his many classmates and attended all the reunions. It was in high school that he first encountered the love of his life Donna who he went on to marry. His devotion to her lasted throughout his life as she was truly his soulmate. They were born in the same hospital the same week and were in the same nursery as infants. They reunited in life at the Golden Gate Roller Palace after being loosely acquainted in high school. They went on to spend 46 years together. His love for her never paled even after her passing.
He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and spoke of them often to his friends and associates. In his spare time, he coached ice hockey after his son Michael began playing the sport and continued to coach for decades. He attended every synchronized swimming show that his daughter Kim ever performed in or coached, including her most recent performance. He took his oldest granddaughter, Rachel, to Cedar Point countless times and rode all the rides with her and her friends. He even attended his youngest granddaughter Sarah’s prom to watch her be crowned as the Queen. He acquired a second daughter with his daughter-in-law Judy, whom he quickly embraced as one of his own. Bill cherished his entire family from his parents to his sisters and their families, to Donna’s family down to nieces, nephews and their children. He treated his friends, neighbors, and the many people he met through his business as family. He was the most loving and devoted man in every way.
He was a man of many trades and eventually started his own business. Operating as a one man show he traveled throughout the State of Ohio and neighboring states to do work. His business was a great passion of his and he continued to work full time until shortly before his illness. To the many people he worked with so many of them became his close and even life-long friends.
Bill was known for being a helper. He would help anyone in any situation at any time of the day or night. He could fix anything. He knew something about almost everything that seemed like there was to know. He helped people from something small like fixing the chain on a bike to getting people out of life and death situations. He truly was one of a kind and for all of these things he will be truly missed.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bill at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 2- 6 PM.
A celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 6 PM at the funeral home.

He was one of the greatest people I have ever and will ever know. He had a pure heart, cared for everyone and was proud and protective of his loved ones like a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend should be. His love and devotion to Aunt Donna was an example of what true love looks like. I will miss him terribly, but I am a better person to have known him, listened to his advice, and lucky to have had him in my life.

Through the years, we became a very close family.
We attended family picnics, graduations, weddings, funerals, and other family functions.
Then when Donna passed away, things changed drastically for all of us. It was an extremely sorrowful time in our lives.
But Bill maintained his nice smile. He continued to be a concerned, compassionate person you could always depend on.
He will be remembered for his great laugh, sense of humor, and many talents.
Bill was our wedding photographer. He also had a hidden talent that we discovered when our youngest sister, Shavon, passed away. Bill wrote a very beautiful poem for her service. That was amazing!
